Kaylie and Joe Kirby both come from childcare backgrounds and decided to create a space to work together along with their own children. They wish to share creativity and knowledge, and provide quality care for families in San Diego.
Joe's Mom ran her own home daycare in San Diego for 29 years so he grew up learning how to take care of kids of all ages.
He's also a Dad of 4!
Kaylie also grew up around childcare as her Mom was the director of a Preschool here in San Diego for 29 years! Kaylie attended that Preschool as a child, grew up helping and shadowing her Mom and volunteering as a teenager. Kaylie then went on to study Child Development in college and work as a Preschool teacher and office administrator at that Preschool for 13 years until it's owners closed it down during the pandemic. She worked at another Preschool in 2022 leading up to the birth of Wildflower Garden Daycare!
Now, Kaylie and Joe want to use their backgrounds in child care, child development, and parenting, along with their passions for the arts and nature to provide for other families and create a new community.
Kendra Bowen will be joining us in taking care of and teaching all of our wonderful kiddos. Kaylie has known Kendra since they were 9 and their own kids have been growing up together. They also surprisingly have worked together at 3 jobs before this!
A little bit about Kendra: She has her Child Development units and is a fully qualified Preschool teacher. She has been a Preschool teacher for 7 years, she nannied a pair of siblings along with her own son for a year during the pandemic, and she was a special education aid in a kindergarten classroom for a year as well! She is enthusiastic and caring and kind and follows our same beliefs and child rearing and teaching philosophies. Kendra already has plans for fun activities and projects she wants to do here😊
